Environmental Management in Refugee Situations Learning Workshop

Raising awareness among UNHCR and related agencies on environmental issues is key to ensuring that environmental protection is mainstreamed into UNHCR operations. To this end, the Operational Solutions and Transition Section (OSTS) of UNHCR convened the Environmental Management in Refugee Situations Learning Workshop in Kigali, Rwanda in September 2009.

Over thirty participants attended the workshop, including UNHCR, local and national government representatives, implementing partner staff and refugees.
